The Language Centre at NUI Maynooth is very pleased to inform you that Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge Irish language exams will take place at levels A1 & A2 in New York this coming May. A group of 14 people sat the A1 exam in NYU last year and all candidates were successful. We hope that more adult learners of Irish in the US will try the exam this year and that some of last year’s A1 candidates will go on to A2 this year.

The exam provides a wonderful opportunity for learners to gauge their proficiency in the language and highlights the areas on which they may need to concentrate in order to move on to the next level. As well as that, it’s a great social occasion for learners of Irish in the US as you will read in this piece by Gearóid Chip Costello from The Cairde Connection http://www.irish-cairde.org/files/newsletters/jul-09.pdf

Exams take place in New York (NYU) on the following dates:

Scrúdú A2: 8 May 2010
Scrúdú A1: 22 May 2010
Application forms may be downloaded from www.teg.ie <http://www.teg.ie> or may be obtained from Glucksman Ireland House. They should be returned to Glucksman Ireland House by March 19th 2010 with a check for $120. Checks should be made payable to Glucksman Ireland House, NYU.
