Do the prepositional pronouns differ anyway at all in the Canúint Mumhan in comparison to the other dialects? If they do could somebody please give a complete table of these? Labharfad libh ar ball, Go raibh maith agaibh. |

Have a look at Lars' site - http://www.nualeargais.ie/gnag/gram.htm. He gives regional variations at appropriate points. |

My problem is this, 'fé' is substituted for 'faoi' in the munster dialect. So would that mean that in the prepositional pronouns in the munster dialect would be as follows: fém, fét, fé, féithi, srl, or something along those lines? |

No - you will hear "fém" for "faoi mo", but the prepositional pronoun is still "fúm." Wait for lucht na ndea-leabhar len é seo a dhearbhú nó a cheartú as yet again I haven't my books to hand. (Message edited by Abigail on February 16, 2010) Tá fáilte roimh chuile cheartú!

In Munster fé: fúm, fút, fé or sometimes féidh /f`e:g`/ (with him), fúithi, fúinn, fúibh, fúthu fé+an(sing.)=fén, fé+na(pl.)=fésna, fé+a(his, her, their)=féna but fé+ár(our)=fé ár (according to "Gaeilge Chorca Dhuibhne" le D. Ó Sé). Go mairidh ár nGaelainn slán!

Fúthu should rather be spelt "fútha" in Munster since they pronounce /fu:hə/. Learn Irish pronunciation here: http://loig.cheveau.ifrance.com/irish/irishsounds/irishsounds.html & http://fsii.gaeilge.org/
