'Ba mhaith flaithiúil uaidh a chuid eolais agus a chuid nótaí a roinnt leis an gcuid eile againn' Is this a case of the copula in the past tense with both 'maith' and 'flaithiúil' used to emphasise how generous he was? I've just never seen 'ba mhaith' used in this kind of context and it's thrown me a bit. |

My take is that both are meant Ba mhaith uaidh X a dhéanamh Ba fláithiúl uaidh X a dhéanamh |

Thanks so much Aonghus! So would 'Ba fláithiúl uaidh' mean it was generous of him? and 'ba mhaith uaidh' it was good of him? |

That would be how I'd understand it. |
