Trying to find a good translation for this...

Collin's has:

freastalaí beáir

Irish Identity Website has:

freastalaí

Focal.ie has:

Nothing for bartender, but does give "freastalaí" for different variations of "attendant" and "server."

Any suggestions?

What about "Dáileamh" - a fine old word meaning cup-bearer/drink server? :)

Cé a thuigfeadh é? Is cuimhin liom nach bhfuair an caife Dáil Bia ceadúnas fíona toisc gur chreid an maorlathach a bhí i mbun na ceiste nach raibh ach Dáil amháin ann, i. Dáil Éireann!

An ionann teach tábhairne agus an ale house? Teach táirne?
Nail house?

Maidir le bartender: dáileoir na dí? I made that up just now. Más béithe cumtha córacha nó boic urrúnta greannacha atá ag freastal nach dáileoirí iad uilig.

Great word that: greannach! Look it up and have a laugh.

Mar a dúirt Aonghus: 'fear an bheáir'-the barman; 'fear beáir'-a barman.

Maidir le "bartender", nach bhfuil ann ach focal Meireacánach ar "barman", cad faoi "fear an leanna" nó "bean a' leanna" más gá (mar a luitear san amhrán cáiliúil sin).

Tá aithne agam ar fear le sloinne "Barman" ach níl sé ina fear bheáir. Is gabha óir sé agus déileálaí clog. B)

Tá aithne agam ort, a Aonghuis, casadh ar a chéile muid fadó riamh. Cúpla uair. Tá's agat saol na Gaeilge. Tá súilaithne againn go léir ar a chéile.
Ainneoin tú bheith ribeach, guaireach, ní dóigh liom go bhfuil tú colgach (an bhfuil?), garbh (an bhfuil?), bruíonach (nár lige Dia go bhfuil!).

Táim fiosrach anois. Ar mhiste leat do ainm cleite a fhuascailt dhom? aonghusoh ag gmail ponc com

Sorry to switch gears on everyone, but I had another job related question...

What do the Irish call "construction workers?"

I haven't seen anything in the dicts...so I am assuming this could be a
terminology thing, or do you have to go by their specific fuction?

What do you call those people with the hard hats who work on construction sites?

Focal.ie has the following:

construction manager: bainisteoir foirgníochta
construction personnel: pearsanra tógála
- No unauthorized entry (except for construction personnel)
- Cosc ar Iontráil Neamhúdaraithe (ach amháin pearsanra tógála)
construction site: láithreán tógála

So oibrí tógála or oibrí foirgníochta would work for construction worker.

Construction workers: oibrithe tógála or oibrithe foirgníochta

Tógálaithe usually means Builders, i.e the entrepreneurs, but can mean the workers as well.
