I just bought a board puzzle game from the UK. It said "Made in Eire". No other Irish at all. First, I was amazed that it was made in Ireland, but also that it said "Made in Eire". Is this common at all?

I ndiaidh a chéile a thógtar na caisleáin.

How old is it? It used to be common in the UK to refer to the 26 counties as Eire [sic] (Éire ainm an Stát, nó sa Sacs Bhéarla Ireland).

Nowadays it is more likely to be referred to as ROI.

Bhuel. Uasal Sasanach a chum. B'fhéidir go bhfuil sé sean fhaiseanta! Feicim go bhfuil "Fabriqué en Irlande" scríofa ann freisin.
