Where I live (Ballinasloe, Co. Galway) the authorities have recently erected directional signs, just off the new motorway, displaying the information "Béal Átha na Sluaighe / TOWN CENTRE". Now, the area where these signs have been put up is the sort of area at the edge of a town that, depending on how you look at it, could be classified as either urban (within the town) or rural (outside the town). It has characteristics of both.

So the authorities have definitely screwed up! But did they screw up in Irish or English?
