Lughaidh, Can you tell me how many sub dialects are covered by Wagner in his Linguistic Atlas? I assume there are at least four. Cois Fhairrge, Ceantar na nOileán, Iorras Aithneach, and north Conamara (centred around Corr na Móna). What are the differences between the sub dialects? I've spent some time in ceantar na n-oileáin and it'd be interesting to know! |

You won't find everything in the atlas, and anyway even between 2 speakers from the same village you'll find differences... The differences between the subdialects concern vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar. But when the closer the dialects are (geographically), the more similar they are.
