Have I got this right:

ag iarraidh = ag 'err-a' (roughly!!) e.g. ag iarraidh tuilleadh tae

táim ag iarraidh ort: ag 'iarraí'

Would this be the way the two meanings of 'iarraidh' are differentiated in pronunciation in Conamara given that they are spelt the same way?

Bhuel, ní dóigh liom go bhfuil aon difríocht eatrub. Níor chuala mé a leithide ariamh ná níor tháinig mé air seo luaite in aon áit. Is mar a chéile iad, ó thaobh na fuaime, /əg' i:ərə/ sa chaon chiall.

An dara ceann a luaigh tú, "tá mé 'g iarr' ort" - /ta: me: g' i:ər ort/ - ba cheart a bheith ann.

'Na trí rud is deacra a thoghadh – bean, speal agus rásúr'

ah cúl a buaile.
Bhí mé ag éisteacht le Máirtín Tom Sheáinín inniu agus spreag sé an ceist ionam (??)..

Chuala mé 'ag iarraí' ráite aige.
Comhthéacs: Bhí sé ag glaoch amach iarratas ó bhean éicínt maidir le amhrán a theastaigh uaithi agus d'úirt Máirtín 'tá bean ag iarraí'..

bhí mise ag súil le 'ag erra' (sorry I don't have the little upside down 'e' folks!! )

In Ultaibh, deirtear i-arraí nó ghearraí (i ndiaidh ag).

Is minic a fhuaimneas na foghlaimeoirí "éirigh" agus "iarraidh" mar an gcéarna, ie. "eerree" (ó tharla go n-úsáideann siad r an Bhéarla níl duifear ar bith ann!), ach bíonn duifear i gcaint na gcainteoir dúchais.
