In a sentence like "Ní raibh adhmad a dhóthain aige" does the possessive pronoun "a" refer to "adhmad" or "aige"?

In other words if it was "aici" instead of "aige" would it be "Ní raibh adhmad a dóthain aici"?

It refers to him. So, yes.

Adhmad a dhóthain - his fill of wood.
