Is this pronounced "fag," "fee," or otherwise? Does the pronunciation vary by region? Go raibh maith agat! |

This is Irish; all pronunciations vary by region! In Munster, one says ['fˠɑɟ]. There's no good way to indicate the sound of this with an English respelling, particularly when I don't know your native dialect. The final g is pronounced somewhere between the 'g' of 'gimme' and the 'j' of 'jimmy'. |

Corca Dhuibhne: /fag'/ with short a, or /feg'/. Ulster, you can hear /fai/ as Teifeach said and, /fa:i/, /fa/... But be careful, this is for the imperative, the "thou"-form. If you add an ending (eg. faighim) the pronunciation may change. Learn Irish pronunciation here: http://loig.cheveau.ifrance.com/irish/irishsounds/irishsounds.html & http://fsii.gaeilge.org/
