Michael McMechan, a Harvard grad and passionate lover of the Irish language and literature, who volunteered his time as a teacher of the Irish language for more than 20 years at the Irish American Heritage Center with Na Gaeil, was diagnosed with a stage 4 brain tumor in December 2008 and has since had surgery and is currently undergoing chemo treatments. He did not have health insurance, has amassed enormous medical bills and is in need of our help.
Na Gaeil Irish language group is presenting this concert complete with a Silent Auction, Basket Raffle Prizes, and Live Irish Music Entertainment to raise support for Michael, with all proceeds going to help pay for his outstanding medical bills.
Performers include: John Williams and Friends, Baal Tinne, Deorad, Academy of Irish Music, and Tantrum featuring Kathleen Keane
Raffle and silent auction items donated by our sponsors: Irish American Heritage Center, Rampant Lion Celtic Traders, Paddy’s on the Square, Blarney Fine Irish Jewelry, Blarney on the Air, Crocodile Pie Children’s Books, Celtic Cultural Center of Madison WI, Hurley Designs, Maureen Neylon Irish Sweaters, Carol Fletcher Photography, Conradh na Gaeilge Milwaukee WI, Shamrock Imports, and many others.
