I'll be heading home to my native county Laois this summer for about 3 weeks. Im strongly thinking of going to some sort of immersion for a week or weekend while I'm there. I have never had the opportunity to do something like that before so its something I'd love to try.

Has anyone on here been to such an immersion before in Ireland and if so can u give me your feedback on what u liked or didn't like about it? Can someone give me feedback on where is the best place to participate in such a program?

Im more interested in Connemara Irish but I've been told that it doesnt' matter which one u go to that all dialects are represented in the teaching... Some one before told me that the program in Donegal (I Forget the name of it) Is better than the one in Galway because its in a Gaeltacht town and not an extension of Galway University.

any feedback would be helpful but I'm preferring feedback from those who have experienced it.

GRMA,
Niall

Perhaps you're referring to the Oideas Gael program in Glen Colmcille, Donegal. If so, here's a link to their website:

I spent a long weekend there a few years ago - what a fantastic place! The teachers are very good and you couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay. The scenery is breathtaking, especially the walks along the seacoast.
