What's the ending all about? It's the synthetic form of the verb conjugation ghluaiseas ghluaisis ghluais sé ghluaiseamair ghluaiseabhair ghluaiseadar |

These forms are used "all the time" in Munster, and may be found sometimes in answers in Connachta and, I guess, in Southern Donegal. Learn Irish pronunciation here: http://loig.cheveau.ifrance.com/irish/irishsounds/irishsounds.html & http://fsii.gaeilge.org/

bhí "ghluaiseadar" á múineadh ins na caogadaí nuair a bhí mé ar scoil, ach fuair mo chlann "ghluais siad" ins na octódaí. De gnáth, úsáidim ghluais siad anois, mar ta mé ag cabhrú mo ghar-iníon, agus níor chuala sí riamh "ghluaiseadar" |
