I've heard horror stories about how difficult it can be for a non-EU citizen to find work in Ireland, but on the other hand I've known people who've done it. I'd like to gather people's impressions and experiences, if you wouldn't mind. Insights very welcome here. Thanks. |

Don't bother unless you can get citizenship via ancestry or have in-demand skills which would enable you to get a Green Card work permit. Loads of Irish people are leaving the country. It's not worth it working illegally. Regrettably, I doubt that I'd be able to document my Irish ancestry sufficiently to qualify for citizenship anyway. |

Become fluent in Irish. Get Irish company to hire you to translate things. Done. :) When writing your messages, please use the same courtesy that you would show when speaking face-to-face with someone. - Daltaí.com

I agree with Danny2007, Ireland is like any other country when it comes to its hiring practices. They want to be able to demonstrate a wide range of variety in their employee pool because it makes their companies look better on paper. This is good for qualified people from other countries, and bad for the locals. |
