Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to help me turn an idea of mine into a workable Irish phrase?

I have been reading some of the different posts, and I am aware that English and Irish do not always transfer well into each other. I would love the assistance of a fluent speaker who can help me create something that is not complete gibberish.

Before I give the quote, let me explain the idea behind it. I am a college student who wants to get involved with international relations, diplomacy, foreign policies...that sort of thing. In one of my conflict theory classes, we spent a lot of time trying to refine our own personal views of the nature of conflict in general.

My personal views are in agreement with the theories that say that conflict begins when the difference between harmony and balance is not observed. For me there is a huge difference between balance and harmony. Balance is when all things in a whole have an equal standing within the whole, and harmony is when unequal parts of the whole manage to co-exist together within the whole.

I have always felt that the natural order of things is in a state of harmony and not balance, and that our attempts to balance our situations in the world that is not designed for equality is the very heart of conflict.

I am certain this is not a new theory but forgive me if I cannot name the person who said it first. In truth, it seems that as soon as you quote someone as being the origin, one can usually find an earlier reference.

I am open to any ideas out there, but I am trying to think of something along these lines:

Peace comes from harmony, not balance.

Harmony, not balance brings peace.

Nature creates harmony, man creates balance.

I really like the last one. But again I would love to hear both the ideas and thoughts of anyone interested in helping me here.

quote:

Nature creates harmony, man creates balance.

Cruthuigheann an nádúr comhtheacht, cruthuigheann an duine cothrom.

I'm a learner so could well be wrong. Perhaps someone else will confirm or correct this.
