I need help in translating this which is the continuation of a larger sentence:

"...daoine cróna a raibh loinnir an daoil ina gcneas, ag cur in éagruth cheana féin uirthi gort, ..."

thanks.

Cross reference please!

(i.e. dark skinned or tanned)

daol [ainmfhocal firinscneach den chéad díochlaonadh]
ciaróg; feithid, péist; taom (bhuail daol caointe í).

loinnir an daoil = shininess as of a beetls carapace

cneas = skin.

this one is from the same page: 159, in the middle (An Braon Broghach):

Ní raibh aon dúil i mbeatha ag an iníon. Bhí luisne na splaince ina ceannaghaidh...

1. How do you translate the first sentence?
2. how would you translate luisne splaince? (which is most of second sentence) (-:!

Thanks.

Ní raibh aon dúil i mbeatha ag an iníon = The daughter had no interest in food (or life, but more likely food).

beatha [ainmfhocal baininscneach den cheathrú díochlaonadh]
an fad a bhíonn duine ar an saol; cuntas ar shaol duine; rudaí a choinníonn beo duine, cothú, bia; focal fáilte (is é do bheatha).

luisne [ainmfhocal baininscneach den cheathrú díochlaonadh]
lasadh in aghaidh duine le teas, fearg, náire agus araile; niamh sholais.

splanc [ainmfhocal baininscneach den dara díochlaonadh]
lasair thine, thintrí agus araile; splinc (splanc chéille, radhairc); néal (splanc feirge, chodlata).

splinc [ainmfhocal baininscneach den dara díochlaonadh]
rian, nó léas ar bith (níl splinc chéille, de radharc, aige).
