In addition to those suggested by Abigail, try Waltons across from Temple Bar.

One of my favorite music stores in all of Ireland is in Sligo and online at http://www.colemanirishmusic.com/

Their selection is quite comprehensive.

Good luck!

I have an addendum:

You wanted "second hand" CDs in Dublin. I gave you the names of places where I thought you might get sean nos music, but the CDs will be new and they are expensive in Ireland.

So, if I have a title, I usually search what I want and buy it elsewhere for better pricing. Of course, there are some CDs that are only available in Ireland and you have to concede the expense.

I have been lucky at Amazon.com and I search Compass Records and Green Linnet Records in the USA as well.

Best

Good luck with the sean nos. What about spoken word cds though? I'd love to get hold of some poems as gaeilge on cd.The beauty is the repeat button, beats fiddling around with cassettes trying to find your place. But I can't even find well known poems like 'Cill Cais'.

Is there some gizmo that transforms tapes into cds?Poetry is a wonderful learning aid.Even oldies like me with very little Irish can remember old rhymes like 'Nora Bheag'

There is. If you have a sound card (very likely tese days), you need a cable to connect a tape deck to the line input on the card, then there's probably plenty free software on the net to record and edit the audio and burn the CD's...

Check these:

Re: Sean nos.

I have just finished listening to two of my favorite performers: Singers Séamus Begley and Seán Keane.

I hope your search for sean nos performers on CD has been fruitful.

If you have a specific list of artists, it would be grand if you could post/publish that list here. If you have been successful in finding your sean nos items, it would be grand if you could post your findings here.

Many/most of us love the old style. It lives--in perpetuity--in the west of Ireland, and the Coleman Center in Sligo is a most wonderful resource for it.

I hope you were able to visit that website.

Best.
