I'm trying to complete an essay I have written. I received alot of assistance on this website and I thank you once again for all your help.

I would like if someone could please assist me with writting the following sentence. I'm trying to say the following

"My standard of Irish would be alot better if I had studied it for the past ten years".

Bheadh mo caighdeán Ghaeilge i bhfad níos fearr má dheineas staidéar ar …....
Mar a deir an seanfhocal Ní haon mhaith a bheith ag seanchas nuair a bhíonn an anachain déanta.

Firstly you are speaking Munster Irish with ''dheineas'', wouldn't it be better to use ''Gaelainn''?

Why do you use Gaeilge and then Gaelainn at the same time?

Stick to one. . .

Here's my attempt:

Bheadh caighdeán mo Ghaoluinne neart níos fearr dá gcaithfinn na deich mbliana anuas ag déanamh staidéir uirthi.

I'm not sure if "caighdeán" is used in this context.

Because people use it? What more justification is necessary than that?
