ríomhchainteoir
Is this a new term, perhaps one devised to accomodate the internet? If so, what does it mean?

Déan cuardach Google leis an bhfocal sin, a Phádraig. Beidh a fhios agat ansin! Is focal úrnua é, ceart go leor.

"An seanchas gearr,
an seanchas is fearr."

"ríomh" means "count" in the sense "Count from 1 to 10". A computer is called a "ríomhaire" (i.e. a counter).

Ríomh is also used as a prefix similar to "e-" in English (where "e-" is short for "electronic"). For instance, ríomhphost = e-mail.

Armed with this information, you can see that "ríomhchainteoir" must mean something like "computer speaker". My initial thought was that it might have something to do with "text to speech" but admittedly I wasn't certain.

So anyway I did a Google search for "ríomhchainteoir", and lo and behold I got hits for "text to speech".

Go raibh maith agaibh.

Just noticed something that can be filed under useless information. If you spell agaibh incorrectly, you get "may something good be on your face, And if you like eggs, then you have egg on your face.

A bhuel. It's early.

Tá a fhios agamsa cad is ríomhchainteoir ann ach ní féidir liom Béarla a chur air. B'fhéidir gur dul chun cinn de shórt éigin é seo i ndeireadh na dála?! Tús meatha an Bhéarla atá i gceist, an ea?
