1. How frequently is santaigh used in lieu of ba mhaith le?

2. Also, how would one say "I want to know." ? (Just the general statement, exactly like that -- not specifying what you want to know.)

1. Never. "Santaigh" means to covet, to lust after.

2. Ba mhaith liom fios a bheith agam. ~~ That's one way. But Irish has different words for knowing, fios, eolas, aithne, so it's not that cut-and-dried.
