quote:

can I have this one?
can I have your address?

Oh boy. These don't translate very directly. For the latter, I guess I'd say:

An dtabharfaidh tú do sheoladh dom? = Will you give me your address?

The first one is context sensitive: have what, from where, in what sense?

An mbeidh é seo agam? = Will I have this one?

An dtabharfaidh tú é seo dom? = Will you give me this one?

An íosfaidh mé é seo? = Will I eat this one?

An bhfuil cead agam é seo a thabhart liom? = Do I have permission to take this one with me? (can also mean: to bring this one with me)

I'll be interested to see what other solutions people have.

an seanchas is fearr."

Níl móran le cuir agam leis sin.

Ní gnách an modh díreach anseo.

Is dócha go mbeadh "Ar mhiste leat" ann:

Ar mhiste leat do sheoladh a thabhairt dom?

go bunúsach thiocfadh leat a rá, "Ba mhaith liom....ldt?" agus an inflection ceart a chuir ar an abairt, chun ceist a dhéanamh as.

sin a mholfainn, gan a bheith ag smaoineamh ró-dhian ar an rud.
