Hi guys! After years of loving Ireland and learning Irish from distant France, I have the great pleasure to inform ye that I moved to Ireland at last! :.) Now, as the great language lover I am, I'd like to have a bilingual answer machine on my phone! :.)This is the message I wrote down so far and thought to record, is it in correct Irish? I don't want my native speaker friends to tell me it's incorrect! Well, here goes: "Hi, Batshèva Battu ata ann. Nil mé ar fail faoi lathair ach fag treachtaireacht domh agus bi cinnte go mbeidh mé ag cur scairt ar ais ort! Slan!" OK. Correct? Incorrect? Batshèva Battu is my real name out of here by the way so no need to put that in better Irish lol. Go rabh mile maith agaibh. Niamh. :.) |

Hi! Funny that, I'd sort of half corrected it in my head (but not as fully as you, my other version was still incorrect) as soon as I'd posted this. It's always like that, I post something and then I think "Gosh, I know exactly where I made mistakes!" :.) I won't have a problem speaking it though. Believe it or not, I have extremely decent spoken Irish just sometimes it's hard to get my head around saying certain things: I'm certainly not used to answer machines in Irish, hence my difficulty at finding the right words! Having said that, I didn't know you could have things spoken through a website. What a wonderful link! Thanks a million! and thanks a million for correcting me also! adh mor. Niamh. :.) |

Níor mhiste liom 'scéala' a shá isteach ann, a chairde, is 'teachtaireacht' a tharraingt as. Is é do bheatha go hÉirinn a Niamh. |

Níl faic cearr leis, ach tá scéala níos deise, níos nádúrtha. |
