Another useful resource is the wealth of Irish song available on CD. For example, Gael Linn has issued a CD of the singing of Albert Fry which features songs from the Donegal Gaeltacht amd from Ulster. All of the words are contained in an accompanying booklet.

not sure if this is considered a resource (but maybe its the best resource for those of us living outside of Ireland)

type in www.tg4.tv in your browser and you wont be dissapointed. live or recorded shows/programs thru Irish on Irish tv. I just was turned onto this the other day by someone in my Irish class here in Dallas Tx. Now I can just have it going on in the backgroud of my computer at home or wherever or watch and listen as time permits.

In just one day im already picking out more words that I've heard before and making out some of the meanings, hearing different dialect ways of saying things to. THis tv channel being on the internet makes the language more real to me. Helps me keep in touch with events going on back home too. If people dont know about this and want to hear living Irish then this will be a great resource.

Im sure someoen's mentioned this on here before at some point but I think this really needs to be promoted more to new people especially.

go raibh maith agaibh. hope it helps.
niall

Is fíor gur áis maith é Webtext ar suíomh Tg4.
Is mór an trua é go bhfuil alán bruscair chuirtear amach acu, ach tá Ghaeilge breá ann agus beidh seans agat na canúinte diffrúil a fhoglaim!

Penpal Gaelach? Ma bhfuil suim ag aon duine teaghmháil a déanamh, chun a Ghaeilge a cleachtadh, bhfeabhas a chuir ar mo litríocht, nó chun comhrá shuimiúil a fháil, chuir teactaireacht dom! GRMMA

At this point this collection is worthy of a page of its own on daltai.com, assuming somebody would take charge of maintaining its currency.

I'm finished my contract this day week, and have to go to Japan for visa reasons, but when I come back I'm free, so I'll streamline it into a usable page and find somewhere to host it
