I wish I had known about this site earlier. Seems like they aren't going to give much consideration to submissions made after August 1. Looks like a very detailed questionnaire (Irish in the community, media, early education, Irish in the household, literature etc...)

A quick Google search shows that it received some notice on blogs and forums...everything from politics.ie to a GAA forum, Irish republicanism...as well as the Irish Times, Conradh na Gaeilge...

Good. Presumably Lá Nua and Foinse covered it as well. Hopefully Gaeilscoileanna too.


What were some of your suggestions?

As far as I know they will take late responses into account, so if the form is still available, fill it in.

What I said in my survey response in a nutshell:

Education needs to take a cradle to grave (or at least PhD) approach to Irish, and improve at each stage.

There has to be employment through Irish in the Gaeltacht and outside it.
