I am searching for the Gaelic translation of the phrase
"With love and faith, little souls will soar!".
Could someone please help me? |

1. An grá agus an creideamh a shaorfas aingle na dtrí sciathán.
2. Saorfar aingle na dtrí sciathán le barr grá agus creidimh.
3. Grá agus creideamh a shaorfas aingle na dtrí sciathán.
4. Grá agus dílse a shaorfas aingle na dtrí sciathán.
5. Saorfar aingle na dtrí sciathán le searc is le hiris.
Maria, firstly I have taken liberty with 'little souls' - 'aingle na dtrí sciathán' being for 'unbaptised children' who were felt in folklore to have had three wings.
Secondly I have also used the verb, 'saor' - to free one, for 'soar'.
Thirdly I have used the non-standard 'aingle'. 'Aingil' is the standard form.
Finally, I have used 'dílse/dílseacht' - 'loyalty', 'diligence' for 'faith', down to no. 5 and then gone for a purely historic 'iris'.
I prefer no. 5.
You may expect many renderings from others to follow as I'm sure many shall help out and the possibilities are many. |
