a Chairde,

Níl gaeilge mórán agam ar chor ar bith, in fact I'm an amateur really. What I am wondering is, whether there exists a self course of study along the lines of "Learning Irish" by O Siadhail that is based in Gaeilge Ulaidh instead of Conamara? I have been told by some that O Siadhail's course is the only that has the depth to leave a do it yourself student like myself, with any lasting fluency. Is this true? I really want to learn the Ulster Dialect, but I don't wan't to sacrifice the "best" course, just on my dialect's preference. I would really appreciate any and all advice concerning this matter. This is something I really can only do on my own, because I don't have the few thousand euros to stay for say a month and a half in the Gaeltacht(I live in Florida), so the right course of study is crucial.

's mise le meas,
Séathrún

Does anyone want to propose a reasonable suggestion?

Give it some time, a Shéathrún -- the weather is just getting nice in some places and people aren't on here as frequently.

I do know of one self-study program similar to Ó Siadhail's Learning Irish that concentrates on Ulster Irish. It's called Irish On Your Own, otherwise known as Now You're Talking.

Check it out here:

There used to be an on-line course that focused on Ulster Irish....I think it was called "Blas"??
