I’ve read Bunreacht na hÉireann and it states that a candidate for the Irish presidency must be an Irish citizen over 35 years of age, but it does not state if the candidate must have been born in Ireland. Can a foreigner who became a naturalized Irish citizen be a candidate for the Irish presidency? And what are the birth requirements for the Taoiseach?

Tig leat "-e" a chur leis sin freisin.

Is fíor.
Ach gur féidir vótáil ina choinne.

Faoi láthair, is dócha gurbh iad rud éigin cosúil le nath Bhrecht atá in intinn an taoisigh.

By the way, De Valera was born in New York, and Erskine Childers in London. That's two out of eight.

Aonghus-GRMA as do fhreagra.

Evidently, the only requirements to be a candidate for the Irish presidency are Irish citizenship** and being 35 years of age.
**De Valera's mother was born in Ireland and Childers married an Irish citizen.

The bad news is: I'm an Irish citizen over 35 years of age agus tá cúpla focal agam!!

An cheist:An bhfuil Éire réidh le huachtarán coimeádach!?? Scig!Scig!

Is mise le Scigaithris, Greann agus Aoir,

Ní fhaigheann muid réidh chomh réidh sin lenár n-uachtaráin!

Pé scéal é, post siombalach is mó atá ann, agus ní mór duit a bheith i do bhean le Máire mar ainm ort. Is cuma faoi do pholaitíocht...

Tá Máire Mhic Giolla Íosa sách caomhach.
Bhí Maire Nic Roibín sách forásach.

Fadhb ar bith leis an ainm. Bhaist Séamus Ó Grianna "Máire" air féin. Bheadh Des "Máire" Bishop ar fheabhas mar Uachtarán: beirthe i SAM, ar nós De Valera; ag foghlaim Gaeilge, ar nós an dá Mháire eile, agus greannmhar, murab ionann is an fear a chuir an cheist thuas.

Mo bhrón! Chuir Aonghus agus Denis deireadh le
m’fheachtas uachtaránachta! Tá mo chomhrac toghcháin ‘kaputt!’, measaim!! Ach, ar a laghad, bhain siad taitneamh go maith as…iad ag gáire fúmsa, agus araile!!

Tá sé go maith liom! Is Greann an rud is tábhachtaí é, nach ea?!!

Go raibh a gcuid acmhainne grinn acu ag méadú is ag feabhsú!! LCD!!
