Hi All, I need for some help with this passage I've written. I just need my grammar corrected and to see does it make sense! I've used Munster Irish verbs to the best of my knowledge and It's supposed to be an invocation to Áine. The one thing I'm definately not sure of is the sentence "An bhean is dea-chroíoiche" I want this to say "the best hearted of women." The word I got for best-hearted is dea-chroíoch (from de bhaldraithe) and it means great-hearted. Do you make this into the superlative by making it dea-chroíoiche? Hints and tips would be appreciated. Áine! A Bhandia Mhór, Fáilte romhat, grian na tSéisúr. Solais an t-ainm atá ort Fad is a thrasnaír na spéire in airde. Banríon Síog Cnoic Áine, Aoibhneas an t-ainm atá ort Is do choiscéime láidire ar eiteog na flaithis, O deirfiúr Gréine. Bansinsearach na Eoghnachtaí Sásamh an t-ainm atá ort 's taoi máthair fhinscéalach na réaltaí, Banchosantóir na mba Suiríoch Mananán Mac Lir, Lúth an t-ainm atá ort Is sínír fút san fharraige mhillteach, Gan lot is gan faitíos Éirír ar an dtonn shuaimhneach Aithinne fholláin Beatha sa dúchas againne, Chomh ainnír ríonaí faoi bhláth; Séis an t-ainm atá ort An bhean is dea-chroíoiche 's muid ag iompar dlaoithe loiscneach i d'ainm uasal. Ar Ghrianstad an tSamhraidh so. and the english: O Great Goddes Aine, Hail to you, O Sun of the Seasons, Your name is Brightness as You travel the skies above us Fairy Queen of Cnoc Aine, Your name is Delight, and Your steps are strong on the winds of Heaven O Sister of Grian Ancestress of the Eoghnacht, Your name is Pleasure, You are the glorious Mother of the Stars, and the protector of cattle Lover of Mananan Mac Lir, Your name is Agility You lie down in the destructive ocean, Without impairment and without fear Thou risest up on the peaceful wave-crest Healing spark of Life in our blood, Like a queenly maiden in bloom. Your name is Melody, O best-hearted of women, We carry burning wisps in your honour at this sacred Summer Solstice Táim ag tnúth le freagra uaibh, Daithí |

Maith thú. An bhfuil tú ag súil le go mbeidh do chuid gramadaí foirfe agat? Má tá, ceapaim go bhfuil botún nó dhó ann. A people without a language of its own is only half a nation.A nation should guard its language more than its territories, 'tis a surer barrier and a more important frontier than mountain or river

I'm in for the first two stanzas, to get you started. And sorry, I'm only at home with Standard or Conamara verb forms. Áine! A Bhandia Mhór, Fáilte romhat, grian na tSéisúr. Solais an t-ainm atá ort Fad is a thrasnaír na spéire in airde. (A) Áine a Bhandía Mhóir, ["bandía" is grammatically masculine ~ which some might dispute] Fáilte romhat, grian na séasúr. [or voc. "a ghrian ..."] Solas an t-ainm atá ort Fad is a thrasnaíonn tú na spéartha in airde / os ár gcionn. ["fad is" = as long as you...] alternatively: Le linn duit na spéartha (in airde / os ár gcionn) a thrasnú. [= while you cross/are crossing the skies...] Banríon Síog Cnoic Áine, Aoibhneas an t-ainm atá ort Is do choiscéime láidire ar eiteog na flaithis, O deirfiúr Gréine. A Bhanríon Shíog Chnoc Áine [= queen of the fairies of C.A. ~~~ this is a little awkward in Irish, so you might consider other ways of saying this] Aoibhneas an t-ainm atá ort. Agus do choiscéimeanna láidre ar ghaotha na bhflaitheas ["eiteog" = wing, but you have "winds" below] [Consider changing "agus ~ is" to "tá" in order to have a comlete sentence?] ["coiscéime" or "coiscéimí" I think are possible as (poetic) short forms] A dheirfiúr Ghréine. O Great Goddes Aine, Hail to you, O Sun of the Seasons, Your name is Brightness as You travel the skies above us Fairy Queen of Cnoc Aine, Your name is Delight, and Your steps are strong on the winds of Heaven O Sister of Grian Standard Disclaimer: "Is iomaí caoi le cat a mharú." Sin an méid anois. Tá súil agam gur cuidiú é sin. "An seanchas gearr, an seanchas is fearr."
