Slubar, slabar are just "sound painting", i.e. no particular meaning. In this case, cogar mogar is performing the same function.

Here's a link where you can play some audio samples, including emough of Slubar, Slabar, Slubar to cover what is shown above.

http://payplay.fm/tadhgmac

You can also listen to 28 first sections of other rhymes - it's very enjoyable to hear both young and old alike singing them - all four generations.

grm.agaibh, ach tá dlúthdhiosca 's leabhrán agam. tá fadhb leis an aistriúchán....nil an leabhrán le haistriúchán. an féidir le héinne é seo a aistriú dom? nó, an bhfuil an ceart m’aistriúchán féin?

"sound painting".......is maith liom sin!

Ní fheicim mórán cearr leis (tá é agat san áit a bhfuil í sa leabhar) ach nach bhfuil ciall beacht aga roinnt rudaí sa bhunleagan.

slaba [ainmfhocal firinscneach den cheathrú díochlaonadh]
aon rud bog; duine bog tútach; láib.

slubar slabar = muck, mush
