Has anyone used GaelSaoire to plan a holiday in the Gaeltacht?
http://www.gaelsaoire.ie/

Údarás na Gaeltachta created GaelSaoire to promote tourism there. Unfortunately, the company is being liquidated. However, they should still have some brochures in stock. I just received a huge bundle of them today from Elesia Ní Cheannabháin of Údarás.

It might be worth emailing her to see if there are more leftover, if you're planning on a visit.

I can't speak highly enough about them. The bilingual Irish-English booklets (I have 7...one for each region) are small but solidly built using high quality paper with beautiful full colour photos and maps, in addition to details on activities.

Donegal
Mayo (Erris, Achill and Tourmakeady)
Cork (Muskerry and Cape Clear)
Meath (Rathcairn and Gibstown)
Kerry (Dingle and Iveragh Peninsulas)
Waterford (Ring and Old Parish)
Galway (Connemara and the Aran Islands)

Also received a Map Guide to An Ghaeltacht (medium sized pull out map divided by Gaeltachtaí...where the English version of names are few and far between....highly recommended)

And two Islands brochures with awesome pictures and detailed info (accom., ferries) for each.

All Free, of course. Get em before they are gone.

Working on it right now! Their website has been a great help, with the lists of Irish-speaking B&Bs.

They're a company though? I didn't notice products or services being touted on the website so I assumed they were a nonprofit of some sort. Do they run a physical shop somewhere, a travel agency or something? If so, do you know where?

It's probably too late to request brochures through the mail at this point (my trip is a week from today) but if they're in Dublin or Galway maybe I could drop by and pick one up...

Tá fáilte roimh chuile cheartú!

I'm not sure. She just said it was being liquidated. So maybe the brand or whatever is being done away with...to be replaced with a new Údarás tourism initiative.

I sent an e-mail to them as well, no response yet, but the information would be great to have.

Tá an oiread sin deiseanna gnó ann. Ba bhreá liomsa rud dá leithéid a chur ar bun amach anseo. Hmmmmm...

A people without a language of its own is only half a nation.A nation should guard its language more than its territories, 'tis a surer barrier and a more important frontier than mountain or river

Hehe, she'll probably wonder where all these brochure requests came from.
