Raidió X is still off air it seems. Why? Wasn't it "launched" two weeks ago?

What a bad first impression.

It was launched and broadcast during Seachtain na Gaeilge.

It'll be live again in the summer.

In the meantime check out www.nosmag.com

You sure about that? I tried it three times over the past two weeks. (Seachtain na Gaeilge March 3-17)

"Managed by Conradh na Gailge, Raidió X will be the first station of its kind broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week over the Internet." Hmm.

"The first programmes are pre-recorded with live broadcasts expected to start in the summer."

What happened to the pre-recorded bit?

To be honest I don't like Raidió X, they never speak and all the music is in English.

Chuala mise é.

Tá an ceart agat a Trigger but they are only starting out. I'm sure the overall plans for the final station are a lot more exciting.

It would be good if they could play the Ceol 05,06,07,08 songs, its basically pop music in Irish.

Obviously some of you are able to listen. I wonder why I can't? I've tried on two different PCs.

Why would they go to Trinity to launch such a service? Not if they were serious

They're playing Coscain ar bith by Declan O Rourke which is on the Ceol07 CD.. I think they must've heard you Trigger...

It could end up being a real winning formula having current chart music with spoken Irish here and there. They play some great music ...

"Windows Media Player cannot access the file"

Make that three PCs that can't access it. Firefox, IE 7, IE 6.

Try IE 8! :)

Actually I assume it will fail, but it's out, so who knows.

Not to toot our own horn....
We play music in Irish, Scottish, Welsh, and any other of the Celtic nations native tongues. we have 2 hours a day dedicated to it, and, we stream it throughout the regular broadcast day as well. 24/7 Mainstream, as well as indie.

The new SU president of UCD was on the board who set it up.. I'm sure he'd love a few complaints in his ríomhphost.. And i know for a fact there's at least one d.j. who is in UCD..
Speaking of UCD, bhí comóradh 100 bliain Cumann Gaelach s'acu le déanaí.. Agus bhuaigh An Cumann Gaelach UCD an comórtas ghlór na ngael don chumann gaelach is fearr in éirinn..

Caithfidh go bhfuil ag éirí go maith leis an bpobal gaelach ar an dtaobh *eile* den abhann ;)
