So, I've seen this phrase in the lyrics to St. Patrick was a Gentleman. And it got me wondering. Might this curious expression be found elsewhere in Irish-english, and, like so many curious Irish-english experessions, might it have it's roots in Gaeilge?

Is the "success" in there the same Gaeilge usage as in "go n-éirí an bóthar leat" (except that it's not in the subjunctive)?
