A few years back there was a popular song that had the line, "I hope you dance." I'm looking for a translation that best captures the intent, and I've come up with:

Tá súil agam go damhsóidh tú.

An bhfuil an frása seo ceart?

What difference exists between damhsaigh and rinc? Also, is the future tense appropriate after tá súil agam?

If you mean 'I hope you (can) dance', the best way to say it is 'Tá súil agam go bhfuil damhsa/rince agat'.

The context of the line is that in the future, no matter what may occur, my hope is that you will find joy. The image, I believe, is that of someone joyfully dancing in celebration of life.

Go mbeidh tú ag damhsa (go deo)

May you dance (always)

But bí ag damhsa (or ag rince) is more common than damhsaigh, I think.

I'd say the difference between damhsa and rince is merely dialect. I guess rince is more Munster, but I'm not 100% sure.

"May you dance" as a wish (see Suaimhneas above) would be:
"Go ndamhsaí tú" or "Go raibh tú ag damhsa"
