Can someone please be so kind as to help by telling me the Irish translation for the names of my daughter, son and children?

Jade
Nathan
Children

Is there also a symbol for Eternel Love? if not, then the translation of those two words.

I have been told by an elderley Irish lady that Gaelic does not provide for my daughter's name and the closest I could get to it is by using the Irish translation of 'a gem'.

Thankyou

The Irish for Jade is Séad (shay-ad)

There is no Irish form of Nathan

Children = Páistí (pAW-shtee)
My children = Mo pháistí (muh fAW-shtee)

Eternal love = Síorghrá (SEER-ghaw)

This is the celtic symbol for eternal love:

It is usually woven into a heart such as the ones shown here:

Are you thinking of getting a tattoo? Personally, I would prefer to get an Irish tattoo with their actual names, like:

Jade agus Nathan
-Síorghrá symbol-
Mo pháistí

Good luck, anyway. I hope I was of some help.

Is ionann "séad" agus "jewel", ceart go leor. Agus de réir de Bhaldraithe ciallaíonn sé "jade" chomh maith. Ach níl an sainmhíniú sin le fáil in FGB (Ó Dónaill), cé go bhfuil sé in Foclóir Seandálaíochta agus in Foclóir Geolaíochta agus Geoifisice. B'fhéidir nár thaitin an débhríocht leis an Dónallach??

No problem with séad, Mudbrick; just a lexicographical excursion here.

Thankyou Luchín.
Yes it is for a Tattoo and I may reconsider using the names as you have suggested and as they are spelt here in Australia.

Dennis - forgive my ignorance but I do not speak Irish. Subsequently I am now worried I am missing something in what you are saying.

déiridh - ?

Dennis is explaining that there is no dispute that "séad" is an Irish word for jewel, and according to some lexicographers (at least three) it can also mean "jade", although one dictionary does note equate "jade" with "séad"

Déiridh's "hmmmm de réir...." means "according to?" or "in whose opinion?"

Cuireann an "Síorghrá symbol" seo snaidhm eile i gcuimhne dom, an rud ar a dtugtar "endless knot" i mBéarla:
