St. Brigid's Church located on 7th St. and Ave B. was built in 1848 by Irish famine immigrants.

This historic church and its many hand carved artifacts has been closed by the Archdiocese of New York and is currently under a demolition order.

As a member of the Committee to Save St. Brigid's, I ask you to please check the website: www.savestbrigid.com

The website has both history and photos of the church.

Newspaper articles from both NY and Ireland, including the Irish Echo, NY Times.

Letter requests to Cardinal Egan.

Full legal documents from court hearings in both NYS Supreme Court and the NYS Court of Appeals.

Forms that can be downloaded for Landmarks Preservation Committee.

Please take a look for yourself and if in the area of NYC, you are cordially invited to a Christmas party/fundraiser on Dec. 15th at Solas Pub, located on 9th St. between 2nd and 3rd Aves. NYC. The Eamonn Ryann band will be performing.

You may contact me at for more information.

Sincerely,
Sheila Houlihan Fee

Thank you.
Go raibh maith agat.
