OK, OK, here are the possibilities: scoil draíochta = school of druidry / druidic art / magic scoil éigse = school of learning / poetry Is cosúil go bhfuil a lán draoithe ann nach bhfuil aon Ghaeilge acu! "An seanchas gearr, an seanchas is fearr."

LOL... Actually Dennis it isn't that appearing ;0) In fact, I wrote a paper at my university on "Earth Centered Philosophy" which modern "Druidism" has now been classified as. For those who are not familiar with the phrase "Earth Centered Philosophy (ECP)," it is the more recent and politically correct term for referring to all religions that might have been called "Pagan or Neo-Pagan" 10 years ago. This umbrella term refers to a lot of religions such as the Druidism, Wicca, Strega, Asatru, Santeria, Voudon, and everything else...all the way to the solitary practitioner." It should be noted that Wicca has the most people in it, however, modern Druidism is the fastest growing of all ECP. When I did this paper in the fall of 06 there were an estimated 50 million practitioners of some form of ECP. However, the numbers are lot like the actual number of Irish speakers in Ireland...a little blurry....LOL... ;0) The reason it is called ECP is that like Daoism, there is a philosophical aspect and an actual religious aspect. This means that you can be a practitioner of ECP and not actually take part of any of these religions, or actually take part in these religions which are governed by ECP. A great example is what we call the "Blended Faiths" where you might be a practitioner of a major religion such as Christianity, but incorporate a lot of ECP beliefs...and surprisingly there are a lot of people doing this in the modern world. Thank you for the help and the tolerance, I really enjoyed it. I used to love coming in here to read your posts, not sure I am going to do that anymore, which is a shame, I learned a lot from you guys. Do_chinniúint: thank you for the post, I could not have explained it better. |

quote:Ná draíocht ná fios ná gaois ná ..... Ná ciall ná náire? Tá saíocht ann, agus tá daíocht ann. Is léir nach dtuigeann siad chomh seafóideach agus atá a gcuid Scoileanna D[r]aíochta. An rud a chuireann brón orm ná an méid easonóra a thugann siad do na draoithe a bhíodh ann anallód, go háirithe na draoithe a raibh ról tábhachtach acu mar fhealsúnaithe, mar chomhairleoirí, agus mar thaidhleoirí i measc na nGall ar an Mór-roinn ag am Julius Caesar. Ní cás liom na scig-gháirí a tharraingíonn na daoithe nua-aoiseacha seo orthu féin! "An seanchas gearr, an seanchas is fearr."
