I'm conducting some geneological research. The records for a few potential ancestors of mine show the first name as "Jno." in the first-name field.

I'm completely drawing a blank here. Would any of you have an idea what that might mean? The gender is male.

(Edit: Also, I should have said, these ancestors come from Ireland; unfortunately I don't know from where, specifically, although Galway, Donegal, and Antrim are likely.)
