Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with the pronunciation of a few names. The first is

Failtigern, ( fada over the i), another way to spell it would be Faoiltiarn, ( no fada). The book I've seen it in lists the pronunciation as fil'-t' iarn, which, unfortunately, I believe I'm pronouncing incorrectly!

The second name is Conmael, (fada over the a), another spelling is Conmhaol, (no fada). The book says it's kun-vel

Any help you could provide would be much appreciated!

Thanks!
Chris

I'm not familiar with the names but at a glance Failtigern and Conmael would appear to older spellings of the names, while Faoiltiarn and Conmhaol have a more modern lookk.

My pronunciation, based on the more "modern" spelling would approximate as follows:

FWEE-ul-tch-EE-ERN

and

KUN-WAY-ul or CUN-VWAY-ul depending on dialect.
