In the Seanfhocal, “An rud nach fiú é a lorg, ní fiú í a fháil,” why is it written “ní fiú í a fháil” instead of “Ní fiú é a fháil??”

It's probably some kind of mental short-circuit, it should really be "é", not "í". You come across versions with "é", too.

Unless, of course, the author was after some delicate gender-related wordplay!
