This site is really very active!
I was away for a while and couldn't answer you Cathal and Aonghus. I saw that "my" Hippocratic oath was already in the archives .
Well, thanks a lot to you both for your translations . That means a lot to me (having this oath in Irish).
The problem is that there really are many differences in your translations.
The good thing is that it's gonna make me work my Irish . I've been looking in my Dinínn's (or is it the good spelling) dictionary for already one hour and have a full page of vocabulary to learn.
On the other hand I really don't know which translation to choose since I am not good at Irish and cannot feel the real meaning of the words.

Anyway, Go raibh maith agaibh!

I'll post them both again:

Leagan Chathail

I láthair Máistir na scoile sin, mo chompánach, agus i láthair íomhá Hippocrate, geallaim agus mionnaím, in ainm na hArd-Bheith, le bheith dílis do na dlíthe ónóire agus iomláine i gcleachtadh mo cheirde leighis.

Tabharfaidh mé cúram saor in aisce do na bochtánaibh, agus ní éileoidh mé go bhfaighfaidh mé breis airgid ná luach m'oibre.

Agus mé ligthe isteach sna hinmheánaigh tithe, ní fheicfidh mo shúile is éard atá ar bun ann; fanfaidh mo theanga ina tost faoi na rúnaibh a bhfuil cúram curtha orthu ann, agus ní cuideoidh mo cháilíochtaí móráltacht a thruailliú nó coir a chothú.

Urramach agus buíoch de mo Mháistreach, tabharfaidh mé an teagasc a bhfuaireas óna n-aithreacha dá bpáistibh.

Go dtuga meas na bhfear dom má táim dílis do mo gealltanais!

Go náirí mo chompánaigh mé agus go raibh dímheas acu orm má loicfidh mé orthu!

Leagan Aonghusa

I láthair Maistrí na scoile seo, agus mo chomhscolairí chaoine, agus ós comhair dealbh Hippocrates

Geallaim agus mionnaim, in ainm an tSár Neach

Bheith dílis do dlíthe an onóir agus an ionracais i gcleachtadh an leighis

Agus mé scaoilte isteach i dtithe, ní fheicfidh mo chúile an méid atá ag titim amach ann, agus beidh mo theanga balbh maidir leis na rúin a scaoiltear liom

agus ní bheidh mo chéim ina chúis dochair do mhoráltacht ná ina chúis chun coireanna a chuir chun cinn

Le meas agus buiochas i léith mo Mhaistrí, bronnfaidh mé ar a gclann an t-oideachas a fuair mé óna dtuistí

Go dtuga na daoine a mheas dom má chomhlíonaim mo gheallúintí

Go raibh mé folaithe faoi dhroch cháil agus dímheas mo chomráidaithe má loicim

Allez, les proofreaders!

Thanks a lot for this ultimate draft .
This genitive "na honóra" disturbs me a little bit. It doesn't seem Irish to me . But it must be since you say so.I'm far from being able to discuss that!
Go raibh maith agaibh Cathal, Aonghus, Lughaidh and Joselito!

C'est vraiment le génitif!

onóir [ainmneach uatha]
onóra [ginideach uatha] (na honóra with article)
onóracha [ainmneach iolra]
onóracha [ginideach iolra]
