Twelve women = Dhá bhean déag, d(h)áréag bean (or ban???)
Neart daltaí óga (óige is the genitive feminine, not the plural)

I think "uachtarán" can only mean "president of a country". For a university, I'd say it's cathaoirleach.

Tá "coláiste" baininscneach i nGaeilg Uladh. Firinscneach sna canúintí eile, gan amhras.

Ag scríobh na haiste fada (tá "aiste" baininscneach). Bhfuil tú cinnte gur ainm briathartha "scrígh" ?

coláiste is feminine in Munster too (or was it paróiste? or both?)

scríobhadh in Munster, pronounced as if "scrí", the same with léaghadh - pronounced "lé"

Bíodh an diabhail ag an gcanúnachas.
Tá "coláiste" firinscneach sna foclóirí uilig atá agam. (Tugann Ó Dónaill nóta gur féidir leis a bheith baininscneach freisin; ní thugann Dineen ná an Collins Gem.)

Déarfainn go bhfuil "Uachtarán an Choláiste" níos coitianta sa lá atá inniu ann - toisc tionchar na bhfoclóirí céanna, is dócha. Ach is fíor go bhféadann sé a bheith baininscneach nó firinscneach, ag brath ar an gcanúint.

Cén chanúint a bhfuil tú féin ag díriú uirthi? Nó an bhfuil tú ag iarraidh Gaeilge chaighdeánach a scríobh? (Rogha atá gach pioc chomh inmholta le canúint ar bith a scríobh, bíodh a fhios agat!)

Tá go maith. Mholfainn "Uachtarán an Choláiste" duit mar sin - tá "paróiste" baininscneach sa Mumhain ceart go leor, ach níor chuala mé riamh gur mhar an gcéanna do "coláiste" taobh amuigh de Chúige Uladh.

Tá daoine eile anseo a d'fhéadfadh eolas níos cruinne a bheith acu, ar ndóigh, agus ghéillfinn dá gcuid fianaise go réidh.

Níl sé ag teacht leis an gcaighdeán ar ndóigh, ach cloisfidh tú "mar" á shéimhiú i leaganacha áirithe: "ba mhar a chéile iad" agus "ba mhar an gcéanna dhomsa" an dá shampla a ritheann liom.
Ach is fíor duit nach ndéantar de ghnáth é - ní déarfaí "ba mhar gheall air sin", cuirim i gcás, ach "ba (dhé) mar gheall air sin."

Tá mo sheacht náire orm má scríobh mé "gan mhuid" áfach! Breall é sin amach is amach.

A Phodsers, bhí mé ’labhairt fá na foclaí gramadúla "mar", "muid", "mé". Chan focal gramadúil "maith".

"Na hoibre maithe" a deirtear, mar sin.

Ceart go leor a Aibí, cha rabh ’s agam sin ach an oiread. Char léigh mé ná cha chuala mé ariamh sin. Ní dóigh liom go bhfuil sin le fáilt i nGaeilg Thír Chonaill. Cha chuala mé trácht air ariamh cib bith.

Faoi? Más tús an gheimhridh fhada atá i gceist agat, níl aon locht air, cé nach bhfuil an aimsir chomh gruama sin anseo fós. Bhí an chead leath den mhí seo an-samhrúil ar fad i Seattle agus ní bhraithim boladh an fhómhair san aer fós.
