I don't want to be a nuisance and I am sorry to start this new thread I want to be closed as soon as I have finished with it.
But, I went on holiday soon after being attacked by you, Peadar, about my English . I just answered 2 or 3 words and left soon afterwards.
I was astonished to see how this thread had been going on after my leaving . That was very interesting but I could'nt answer MYSELF to you, Peadar, about some details and I think I've got to do it.
Well, Peadar, English IS my mother language because of the following reasons :
- I was born in Africa in a country where they speak French.
- I left this country when I was 3 months old (in my cradle!) to go to Kenya (where they speak English as you may know)and lived there till 10.
- I then went and lived in England for about 3 years and arrived in France at 14. Excuse me for these private details.I never thought I would tell all this here!
English is MY mother language because I can feel the English words with my mind and my guts. That's all. I don't claim for any particular thing. I am like I am . That's all. And I make some mistakes , but as sean-Daithi said, I am surrounded with persons speaking another language and so, I am UNDER influence (Wahoo!)
I think in English about 50 % of the time and it depends ON my mood whether it's english words that come to my mind or not .
That is all!
I didn't like your way of saying my writing was giving me away!! because I have nothing to hide or to prove. I speak both English and French and I make mistakes... and I try to keep up with my English and I try to stay open-minded. I then don't understand your hint at me persisting in some errors. Which errors?
Anyway I just wanted to give you my mind. I am sorry to use this forum for this but I wanted to do it because I hate being attacked without any reason .
Sorry again everybody and, if you agree, let's close this thread for good. Thanks.
