I need a benevolent person to correct my translation. This short gloomy poem was composed by an old friend if mine who is living in the States.

smaointe ar nós na gaoithe ag rith go luath i mo cheann
agus na hinní ag casadh i bpian
cén fáth ní bheidh freagra ar bith air go deo
ó dhúchas damanta seo is ea an t-iomlán a thabhairt in aisce i gcónaí go fonnmhar
an laige intinne seo de cheal an gá
ag tnúth le muirniú éigin nó ag dul amú i súile an té úd a bhfuil gan súil é féin!
an chnead seo de bheatha a ghineann folús is buaireamh,
an mhian seo a imeacht as radharc sa cheo is a bheith beirthe arís ina dhuine nua
le gnúis nua, coinsias nua, amárach nua.
ach amárach leanfar an t-iomlán a thabhairt in aisce go fonnmhar ag tnúth le muirniú éigin!
agus dul amú i súile nua i ndóchas go bhfuil siad in ann i gceartlár do chroí a fheiceáil

thank you

mario

It would be easier if we knew Italian... Does someone know Italian here? I know a little bit but there are two many words I don't understand....
Could you give a literal English translation, please?

I'll try a plain version:

flash thoughts speedily are flowing thru my mind
while viscera twisting in pain
the why will ever be without an answer
it's our cursed nature, to give everything in handfuls
our feebleness of lacking necessity (?)
our longing for a caress or for getting lost into the eyes of one that has no eyes
this gasp of life, bringing emptiness and deep anxiety,
this desire to vanish into the fog and be born again a new man
with a new face, a new conscience, a new morrow.
but tomorrow we'll keep on giving by handfuls longing for a caress
getting lost into new eyes, in hope that they can see into the bottom of your heart.
***
My friend Robizio, perhaps a bit homesick, when he's not riding a horse (he's a teacher in Maine), he spends his time writing strange poems like this, which I can hardly decode sometimes. A good guy anyway.

I don't understand everything in some verses, but I'd say:

smaointe ar nós na gaoithe ag rith go luath i mo cheann
agus na hinní ag casadh le pian
ní bheidh a fhios agam go deo cén fáth
sin ár nádúr damnaithe, gach rud a thabhairt go flúirseach
ár laige de ???
bímid ag tnúth le muirniú éigin nó le dul amú i súile an té úd nach bhfuil aon súil aige!
an chnead seo de bheatha a ghineann folús is buaireamh,
an mhian seo imeachta as radharc sa cheo is a bheith beirthe arís inár nduine nua
le gnúis nua, coinsias nua, lá amárach nua.
ach amárach leanfar de thabhairt go flúirseach, ag tnúth le muirniú éigin!
agus le dul amú i súile nua i ndóchas go mbeidh siad in ann feiceáil a bhfuil i gceartlár do chroí

go raibh maith agat a Lughaidh. ba mhór an cúnamh dom é. I had to stop studying Irish last year because of lack of time and I'm looking forward returnig to it.
Anyway I'll tell Robizio the poem is too hermetic to be understood.
