A chairde,

I've heard several people (both on this forum and other places) more or less dismiss the new version of Teach Yourself Irish by Ó Sé and Shiels, saying that it has been "widely panned". Would anyone be willing to explain some of the things that are wrong with it or that they dislike about it? I'm assuming it must be more than just the fact that it uses Standard Irish.

Tomás

Hello Tomás. All I can say is, "beware hyperbole." :)

I'll send you an email about my opinion on TY Irish, since it's been discussed recently. Meanwhile, if you trawl through recent posts and archives using the search feature, you'll unearth a good bit of input on this topic.
