In a spirit of helpfulness, I had mentioned to an ECB press officer that they would get a question in Irish at their news conference after last month's meeting in Dublin. Irish is now a recognised language of the EU, after all.
They were already on the case, with translation available for President Jean-Claude Trichet. In the end, the ECB went one better, and Irish Governor John Hurley provided the answer in Irish as well.
