Andovar Pte Ltd is a leading localization firm based in Singapore and Boston. The company was formed by industry veterans in 2006, and we have some large clients based in the United States with regular ongoing work into many languages.

We have an upcoming project to translate a document from English into Gaelic. Here are some of the details on the project:
* 1200 questions
* 50,000 words
* English into Irish Gaelic
* The materials are Department of Transportation drivers exam. We do consider that this is rather straightforward work.
* Starting in second week of June at the latest
* Quick turn around time

Please send your resume, translation rate per word, daily output, and indicate your availability, as well as the CAT tool(s) you use to Also, please note that we will require separate editing, so we would also like to know your editing rate (typically 30-40% of translation rate).

Payment terms: Our standard terms are 45 days after invoice. We pay by international wire transfer from Singapore.

45 days is a long time... that's like 1079 hours longer than I'd be willing to wait. Plus I'd need some sort of Escrow system in place if dealing with people in different countries (let alone continents).

Not that I'm the man for the job or anything!

I am very much afraid that you will end up with "desperate/chancers/shysters" if you expect someone to wait 45 days for payment.I got paid per month for my translation work.I submitted my work , and waited two weeks for proof-reading and a critique and then I got paid.I billed the company the last Friday of the month and I got paid by the end of the second week the following month.I would not take up your offer as it seems "Exploitative" by your conditions .Anyway you can always say the work is not up to standard, and you will soon run out of good translators.You will succeed for a while but the pool of genuinely good transaltors in Irish/ minority languages is small so let that be a consideration for you.
