Rick O'Shay does this thing where he gets rappers (such as Snoop Dawg) to do 'What's my name' in Irish while on stage which he glosses as 'Cad is ainm dom'?

To me, given one is been reflexive and emphatic, would one not say 'Cad is ainm dom-sa'?

I've also done some rapping mp3s i nGaeilg too...only joking.

It'd depend entirely on the context... and it's something you decide more by intuition than anything else. You'd have to hear the initial song first and then decide.

And of course there's people who don't use emphasis at all, leaving the context to decide everything. Has anyone heard Densel Washington speak in the film, "De Javu"? His tone of voice and so forth is really odd at some parts, but the listener's mind just decides emphasis from the context.

The context is when they go on stage "What's ma name?...Whats ma name?!" if that helps

Yep, he does do that thing with the rappers indeed, believe it or no

Aye ye i've heard him do that.. Himself is in charge of Data media productions, no? They're the lads who make Top40 Oifigiúil na hÉireann..

A people without a language of its own is only half a nation.A nation should guard its language more than its territories, 'tis a surer barrier and a more important frontier than mountain or river
