Dia daoibh,

I apologise for writing in English, mine is a beginner's Gaelic. My daughter asked me to name five most important poets writing in Gaelic in the past 30 years and today.
Would it be correct to say Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill, Cathal O'Searcaigh, Máirtín O' Direáin, Sean O' Riordain, Greagoir O' Duill, Liam Muirthile, Michael Hartnett?

Go raibh maith agat for any input,
Medbh

Medbh a chara,

Although i'm not exactly a poetry fanatic i'd say the five most important would be the above without Gréagóir and Liam..

There's no answer to things like this though, just opinion!

A people without a language of its own is only half a nation.A nation should guard its language more than its territories, 'tis a surer barrier and a more important frontier than mountain or river
