Hi,
My names Matt. I'm from Newry in County Down. I studied Irish for 5 years up to G.C.S.E, but since then (im now a 3rd year uni student) I seem to have forgotten all of it. Just wondering could anyone recommend some good books, or tapes? Money is tight and I dont want to go wasting money on something im not going to learn from.

Many thanks,

Matt

The "Turas Teanga" DVDs make a nice refresher. You'll be surprised at how much comes back to you.

I wouldn't recommend the book or CDs of that series, though.

Matt, Caidé mar atá?

I'm a student from DCU but i'm chillin in Belfast on my work placement... I always recommend finding a local cumann gaelach/language group as they are usually quite enjoyable and it's always easier to learn while you're having the craic... Would there maybe be one in that college in newry? If not your local Sinn Féin/Sdlp office could help i'm sure..

Fundalk is only a stones throw down the road, and sure they have conradh na Gaeilge there and all..

Maybe buy Lá Nua/ view online www.nuacht.com ?
If you can drive it'll make it a lot easier?

I'll have a ponder and get back to ya..
