Táimse ag breathnú leabhair don samhraidh chun snas a chur ar mo chuid Gaelinn... leabhair nua-aimseartha... leabhair traidisiúnta... aon mholadh? Aistriúchan, dual-language books - cosúil leis an gceann ó Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill agus Micheal Hartnett....
Go raibh maith agat...

Ní léim leabhair dhá theangacha!

Tá na mílte leabhair ann; tá do cheist rud beag ró oscailte.

Céard a léann tú i mBéarla? Beathaisnéisí, úrscéalta bleachtaireachta, stair, gearrscéalta? Suim ar bith agat in Harry Potter? Tig leat an chéad úrscéal sa tsraith sin a léamh i nGaeilge. Nó "Alice in Wonderland" i nGaeilge.

Gearrscéalta mar sin. Tá go maith.

1) Gearrscéalta an Phiarsaigh, Cathal Ó Háinle a chuir in eagar; Cló Thalbóid. Is dóigh liom go bhfuil eagrán dátheangach dá chuid gearrscéalta ar fáil freisin. Tabhair súil ar litriocht.com

2) Gearrscéalta an Chéid, Gearóid Denvir agus Aisling Ní Dhonnchadha a roghnaigh; Cló Iar-Chonnachta. Séard atá ann ná fiche gearrscéal den chéad scoth ón aois seo caite.

Más fearr leat béaloideas, áfach, tá leabhartha eile ann -- a lán acu -- a bhfuil scéalta ón traidisiún sin iontu.

an seanchas is fearr."

Ar ábhar léitheoireachta, cad faoi Alan Titley... an fuil a chuid Ghaelinn éasca nó deacair? Nílim róthugtha lena chuid altanna, tá siad casta agus an Ghaeilge táim caillte leis! Tuairimí?

Chaith mé súil ar "An Fear Dána" (úrscéal dá chuid) anuraidh agus bhí sé an-deacair ar fad dar liom. Ábhar foclóireachta seachas léitheoireachta, is beag nach déarfainn.

Tá fáilte roimh chuile cheartú!

Bhain mé sult as An Fear Dána, ach ní raibh sé éasca. Má tá tú sásta úrscéal iomlán a léamh, mholfainn ceann de na húrscéalta le Pádraig Standún duit. Tá an chuid is mó acu léite agam agus bhain mé an-sult astu: Cion Mná, Cíocras, An tAinmhí, Na hAntraipeologicals, Stigmata, Saoire, Sobalsaol. Tá siad seo uilig suite sa saol atá inniu ann, agus is scéalaí maith é an t-údar. Is dóigh liom go scríobhann sé do Ros na Rún freisin!

an seanchas is fearr."
